Chuck Brockmann of Long Grove will celebrate his 80th birthday on Feb. 19 with a family dinner. Chuck and Kim will be hosting a gathering with family and friends at a later date.
Mr. Brockmann was born on Feb. 19, 1942, the son of Elmer and Alberta (Riessen) Brockmann.
He was employed with John Deere for 23 years, retiring in 2001. He continues to farm with his son, Tom, and raises black Angus cattle and fresh and smoked turkeys for the holidays. Also, he is a loyal Iowa State fan.
He is the father of Tom (Molly) Brockmann, Anne Dahl, Bill (Bobbi) Brockmann, Ellen (Justin) Barrett, Katie (Jason) Schroeder, and stepchildren Brittany (TJ) Vaughn, Matt (Becky Tressel) Petz. He has 10 grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.
