Richard and Ruth Buikema, residents of Grand Haven Retirement Community, formerly of Fulton, Ill., will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary on Oct. 4. A small family gathering was held at Grand Haven on Sept. 12.
Ruth Voss and Richard Buikema were married Oct. 4, 1955, in Fulton.
Mr. Buikema is an Air Force veteran. He retired from General Electric. Mrs. Buikema retired from Cottage Pastry Bakery in Fulton.
They are the parents of Randy and Mary Buikema of Franklin, Tenn., and Dan and Brenda Jamison of Princeton.
Their grandchildren are Greg Buikema, James Buikema, Sarah Wikoff, Nick Jamison, Dana Clark, Jennifer Steines, Tony Steines and Lucas Steines. They have 15 great-grandchildren.
