Bill and Linda Tubbs will observe 50th wedding anniversary Nov. 22

Bill and Linda Tubbs will observe their 50th wedding anniversary on Nov. 22 quietly at home at 302 S. 8th St., Eldridge, due to COVID. A family gathering will be held at a later date.

Linda Zoe Long and William Tubbs were married Nov. 22, 1970, at First United Methodist Church, Maquoketa.

Bill is a graduate of Iowa State University and served in the National Guard. Linda is a graduate of the University of Northern Iowa and taught at schools in Marshalltown and Bettendorf.

In 1971, Bill became the first full-time publisher at the 3-1/2-year-old North Scott Press. In 1974, Linda joined her husband as co-publisher. They will be completing 50 years of service in 2021 and are also publishers of the Wilton-Durant Advocate News and West Liberty Index.

They are parents of Aimee, Seattle; Anne (Matt) Olson of Urbandale; and Alisa (Joe) Sleep, Middleton, Wis.

Their grandchildren are Clara, Nolan and Ella Olson, and Ava, Nora and Jacob Sleep.
