1997: No Smoking comes to N. Scott

Jan. 15, 1997: The North Scott School District was exploring instituting a “no smoking” policy on school grounds. Smoking in school buildings and vehicles was prohibited in 1991, but the district wanted to ban the use of tobacco products in outside areas as well. Superintendent Pat DeLuca said a similar policy was in place at Pleasant Valley schools.
