1980: Citizens oppose county's house numbering and road naming plan

Aug. 28, 1980: A group of Scott County residents strongly opposed the county’s proposed house numbering and road naming system. This would replace the rural route system and ensure every rural home or business had a street name and address. Opponents stated the plan would be too expensive and was unnecessary, and that money would be better spent fixing the roads rather than naming them.
