Earlier this month, Wilton High School Principal and Activities Director (AD) Marc Snavely announced that he was stepping down from the AD role at Wilton High School at the end of the school year. He will stay on as principal at WHS.

The Wilton district opened the job up internally and on Jan. 25, Snavely told the Advocate News that Ryan Hetzler will be named the next Wilton AD. Hetzler is a health and physical education teacher at WHS. In a message to Wilton staff, Snavely said the following:

"This afternoon, I am pleased to announce that Ryan Hetzer was offered and has accepted the Activities Director position for the 2019-2020 school year. I have no doubt that Ryan will do a great job in this position. As the 7-12 principal, I will still be highly involved with all school activities and attend as many events as possible. Both Jane and I will work with Ryan to make this a seamless transition starting in the fall. Ryan will continue with his head football and junior high boys' track coaching duties but will be giving up his duties as junior high boys' basketball coach for next year. I just wanted to keep you all informed. Please welcome Ryan aboard when you see him."

Hetzler's salary for the AD role is yet to be determined.
