Ronald H. Schnoor, 78, of rural Plainview, died on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at the Davenport Lutheran Home.

A celebration of Ron’s life will be held on Saturday, April 27 at the Dixon Legion from 5 until 9 p.m.

Per the family’s wishes, his body was donated to the University of Iowa for medical research study.

Ron was born a son of Harvey and Gertrude (Collier) Schnoor on April 12, 1940 in Davenport. He served in the U.S. Army National Guard from 1958 to 1966. He was united in marriage to Carron Ruesink on June 28, 2008 in Davenport. He owned and operated his family farm. In addition to farming, he sold seed corn and Conklin products.

Ron was a member of the Iowa Corn Growers and Soybean Growers, Walcott Community Club and in earlier years, the Dixon Park Board. In his spare time he loved traveling in his motor home with his wife, going to casinos and playing the slot machines.

Ron is remembered by his wife, Carron Schnoor; children, Craig A. (Kelly) Schnoor of Plainview and Brian (Lynette) Schnoor of Parkston, South Dakota; three step-children; siblings: Allen (Connie) Schnoor of Donahue, Norma (John) Nielson of Eldridge and Mardel (Russ) Huebner of Le Claire; grandchildren: Preston, Becca, Ashley, Amber and Aaron; six step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one step great-granddaughter; and the mother of his children, Mary Lincoln of Walcott.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Gertrude, and his son, Gerald.
