Richard “Dick” Wolf, 86, formerly of Joy, Illinois, the Davenport area and Durant, joined his love, Connie on Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2018.

Per his wishes there will be no visitation or service. A private family burial will be held in National Cemetery, Rock Island.

Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rungemortuary.com.

Dick was born at home near Long Grove to Bernard and Gladys (Soltau) Wolf on Aug. 15, 1932. He served proudly in the U.S. Navy from 1952-1960. He was united in marriage to Connie (Lincoln) Wolf on Feb. 12, 2002 in Mission, Texas, where they wintered each year. Both of their families were thrilled they found their love late in life. Connie passed away this past July and she was deeply missed by Dick.

Dick was a cement finisher, a milkman, and farmer in eastern Iowa. He was very social, loved to engage with everyone he met and make them laugh. He farmed his own land and loved to go back to his farm, pull up a lawn chair and watch his son work the land. He loved to be surrounded by his family and grandchildren. He lived a simple life, but worked very hard to provide for his family.

Celebrating his memory are his children: Susan (Jack) Tank, Iowa City, Krista (Gary Nardi) Wolf, Hudson, Illinois and Scott (Darcy) Wolf, Durant; grandchildren: Marisa, Alecia, Christopher, Chauncey, Wyatt, Melina, Allie, Nathan, Haley and Logan; and three great-grandchildren: Braxton, Everett and Raelyn.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Connie; sisters, Janice Nieman and Inez Fuerbach; and the mother of his children, Erna Kroeger Wolf.
