Melvin M. Rohwedder, 90, of New Liberty passed away Sunday, Jan. 19, 2020 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf. Private family services will be held. Interment will be in the Durant Cemetery at a later date.

Melvin was born in Davenport on Aug. 7, 1929 to John and Christina (LaMaack) Rohwedder.
Melvin married Eleanor L. Schaeffer on February 14, 1953 in Davenport.
Melvin farmed near Stockton and retired in 1992 from Oscar Meyer in Davenport after 25 years of service. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Durant American Legion Post #430. He enjoyed working outside and spending time with his family.
Melvin is survived by his wife Eleanor of New Liberty, children: Sherri (Scott) Mohr of Apache Junction, Arizona, Kurt Rohwedder of Muscatine and Todd Rohwedder of New Liberty; 4 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and his sister Evelyn Shepard of Silvis, Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his twin daughters Karen and Sharon; and his brother Norman.
