Marlene J. Linder, 82, of Muscatine, died on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at Genesis East Medical Center.

Visitation for Marlene was held on Sunday, July 29 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services.

Funeral services were held on Monday, July 30 at 10 a.m. at the Fruitland Baptist Church.

Interment took place in the Eliza Creek Cemetery. A time of food and fellowship was held at the church following the internment.

Marlene Jannice Harroun was born on July 4, 1936 in Davenport, the daughter of John W. Harroun and Theresa A. Ewoldt. Marlene was a graduate of St. Luke’s School of Nursing. On May 6, 1953, Marlene was united in marriage to Kenneth J. Linder in Davenport.

Marlene was a retired Register Nurse who began her career in 1964. She was an active member of the Fruitland Baptist Church where she was also the church secretary. She enjoyed volunteering for the Red Cross, Durant Ambulance and playing in a bowling league.

Marlene will be remembered by her three children: Valerie (Donald) Moeller of Muscatine, Charles (Deb) Linder of Flora, Illinois and Kenneth S. (Sherry) Linder of Moscow; seven grandchildren: Christopher (Hannah), Rebecca, Sammantha (Roger), Katelyn (Austin), David (FaLynn), Rachel and Joshua; four great-grandchildren; and one brother, James (Charlotte) Harroun of DeWitt.

Marlene was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth; brother, John Harroun and one great-grandchild.
