    Larry James Pittman, 76, died on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown.

    No local services are planned; family services will be held at a later date in Colorado.

    Larry was born on March 14, 1942 in Ravenna, Ohio, the son of Albert and Dorothy (Dye) Pittman. He served in the United States Air Force. Larry was married to Jeannie Puffer, they later divorced.

    He has spent most of his life in Colorado working as a mechanical engineer with Martin Marietta. He then moved to New Mexico and most recently to West Liberty in June of 2017.

    He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing in a boat, panning for gold, gardening, photography and was a great cook.

    Larry is survived by four children: Jodi (Vince) Wilson of Brighton, Colorado, Hollie (Eric) Rock of Atalissa, Jacob Wenzinger-Pittman of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Westin (Heidi) Pittman of Centre Hall, Pennsylvania; three grandchildren: Keirsten, Merissa and Aria; four great-grandchildren; two brothers: Virgil Pittman of Los Lunas, New Mexico and Ron Pittman of Big Springs, Texas; and a sister, Shirley Wilson of Ravenna, Ohio.

    He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers: Albert and Danny.
