Janet E. Ketelsen, 83 of Durant died Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at Cedar Manor Nursing Home in Tipton. Visitation was held on March 15 at Bentley Funeral Home in Durant. Funeral services were held on March 16 at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Durant. Burial will take place next to her husband in the Durant Cemetery.

Janet was born in Cedar County on March 24, 1936 to Gerhardt and Eleanor (Hein) Kruckenberg. Janet graduated from Lowden High School in 1953. She married William W. Ketelsen on March 12, 1955 in Lowden. Bill preceded her in death on Aug. 23, 2018.
She was a secretary at various businesses and retired from Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, where she was a longtime member. She enjoyed flower gardening, butterflies and reading.
Janet is survived by her two children, Mike (Diane) Ketelsen and Julie (Leo) Chase both of Durant, 6 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 2 step-granddaughters, 3 step-great grandchildren and her sister-in-law Sharon Kruckenberg of Lowden.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill; and her brothers James and Jeffrey Kruckenberg.
