Gary L. Skipton, 67, of Muscatine, died on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at his home.
Visitation was held from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 1 at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 2 at the Church of Latter Day Saints, 2902 Lucas St., Muscatine. Burial took place in Oakdale Cemetery, Wilton.

Gary was born on Oct. 21, 1950 in Muscatine, the son of Ernest and Loraine (Jarr) Skipton. The family resided in Wilton and Gary graduated from Wilton High School. He married Sheri Allen on Oct. 7, 2005 in California.
He had many hobbies including fishing, hunting, off road truck racing, golf, boating and coaching baseball. He loved to work with antique vehicles, especially model A Fords as he was mechanically inclined.
Gary is remembered by his wife Sheri Skipton of Muscatine; two daughters, Dusty Tachera and Amber (Josh) Passmore, all of Lodi, California; one stepson, Damon (Becky) Winter of Kennewick, Washington; one stepdaughter, Casandra (Ryan) Clifford of South Jordan, Utah; four grandchildren: Nathan Tachera and Matthew, Andrew and Zachary Passmore, all of Lodi; four step-grandchildren: Avery, Nora and Eden Winter of Kennewick and Jackson Clifford of South Jordan; his mother Loraine Skipton of Wilton; two brothers: Howard Skipton of the Philippines and Dan (Cynthia) Skipton of Muscatine; and two sisters: Velva Mucha of Wapello and Chris (Frank) Lascelles of Wilton.
He was preceded in death by his father Ernest in 2005 and a nephew.
