Elizabeth was born on Feb. 3, 1954. She grew up north of Spring Hill on a farm. She graduated from Indianola in 1972 and after graduating from Iowa State University in 1976, she went on to receive a degree from the other three public universities in Iowa. Elizabeth’s first job as a family and consumer science teacher took her to Wilton. She then pursued a position at Urbana where she taught and coached softball.

Elizabeth married Randy Clark on July 27, 1990. Elizabeth and Randy then moved back to her home area where she would complete her career at the Indianola High School. Elizabeth served many roles in the school district: cheer and dance coach, guidance counselor, dean of students and assistant principal. Elizabeth was involved with the Indianola Booster Club running the concession stands.

Elizabeth was active in the community. She was recognized as the WHO Golden Apple Award recipient in 2016, recognizing her as one of the most respected advisor/teachers in the state. Elizabeth served on the Iowa State Dance and Drill Team Association Board for several years and enjoyed sewing uniforms for the dancers at the state basketball tournament and for the high school dance competition. She coached multiple dance teams to high rankings at nationals in competitions from Florida to Texas.

She loved crafting and taking trips. Her most memorable trips were to Texas and cruises.
