Joan Mary Schaeffer was born July 7, 1939 and graduated from Davenport High School. She married Raymond Kroeger on August 24, 1957. The couple resided in Bennett for many years, where Joan worked for the Bennett School District as an assistant to the superintendent, before eventually moving to Davenport.
Her children include Allen of Wilton, Linda (Jim) Connell of Davenport and Joni (deceased).
She has five grandchildren — Melissa, Nate, Andy, Zach and Chris; and three great-grandchildren — Kellen, Calvin and Mila.
