The Durant Firefighters Festival will be held on Friday, Aug. 9 and Saturday, Aug. 10. The schedule of events will be as follows.
Friday, Aug. 9: carnival rides and concessions – 5 p.m. to close; register for the Texas Hold ‘em tournament – 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.; softball tournament – 6 p.m.; Durant Dusk Hustle – 6:30 p.m.; Texas Hold ‘em tournament at the shelter – 6:30 p.m.; preschool money grab and children’s games – 7 p.m.; Nuclear Plowboys music – 7:30 p.m.
Saturday, Aug. 10: softball tournament – 8:30 a.m.; parade – 10 a.m.; carnival rides and concessions open – 11:30 a.m.; register for bag tournament – 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; pie judging – noon; bag tournament – 12:30 p.m.; prize walk – 1 p.m.; talent show – 3 p.m.; children’s pedal tractor pull – 3 p.m.; Durant firefighters’ steak dinner – 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.; pie auction – 7 p.m.; Lynn Allen music – 8 p.m.; firefighters’ raffle prize drawing – 10:30 p.m.
