Don Holst of Walcott will celebrate his 80th birthday at the Walcott American Legion on Saturday, March 24 from noon until 3 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend. No gifts, please.
Don was born on April 9, 1938 in Davenport. He married Marieta DePorter in 1961.
The couple has five children: Myra (Perry) Cooper of San Antonio, Texas, Mike (Tina) Holst of Stockton, Tom (Ann) Holst of Walcott, Rita (Kurt) Freese of Ida Grove, Iowa and Renae (Jim) Lind of Belton, Missouri.
They have 16 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
