Sterner graduates from Mount Mercy
Daniel Sterner of Durant graduated from Mount Mercy University with a master of science in nursing degree. A commencement ceremony will be held May 19 at the U.S. Cellular Center in Cedar Rapids.
Pelzer on Mount Mercy Dean’s List
Matthew Pelzer of Bennett was named to Mount Mercy University’s fall 2018 Dean’s List. Students with a semester grade point average of 3.60 or better and who are graded for six or more semester hours are eligible for inclusion on the Dean’s List. Pelzer is a finance student.
Smith graduates from DMACC
Haylee Smith of Durant was one of nearly 700 students who graduated from Des Moines Area Community College’s (DMACC) fall semester. She received an associate degree in nursing.
Scarboro on DMACC Dean’s List
Regan Scarboro of Wilton was included on the Des Moines Area Community College’s fall Dean’s List. To be eligible, a student must have completed a minimum of six credits and earned a 3.5 to 3.99 grade point average for that semester.
UNI fall Dean’s List
The following are among the students named to the fall 2018 semester Dean’s List at the University of Northern Iowa.
To be included on the list, a student must have earned a grade point of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale, while taking at least 12 hours of graded work during the semester.

UNI fall graduates
New alumni were added to the roster of graduates of the University of Northern Iowa. The following area students were among the graduates.
Jeremiah Costello of Bennett received a Master of Arts in Education with a major in principalship. Alik Lorenz of Durant graduated with honors and received a Bachelor of Arts with a major in computer science. Anna Johnson of Wilton received a Bachelor of Arts with a major in elementary education.
Kirkwood Community College fall Dean’s List
Kirkwood Community College has released its Dean’s List for the fall 2018 semester. These students have achieved a 3.3 grade point average or higher after completing 12 or more credit hours at the college. The following area students are included on the list: Bryce Deerberg of Bennett and Kelsi Hein of Bennett.
