Climate change presentation Nov. 14

Posted

West Branch Friends Meeting’s annual Simple Supper will be held Nov. 14 at 316 N. Sixth St., West Branch. Connie Mutel, University of Iowa Hydroscience and Engineering, will address the group with a presentation: “Climate Change: Where We Are, How We Got Here, and Where We Are Going.”

She will trace the evolution of climate change and its effects, interweaving our understanding of climate science, Iowa’s landscape transformation and current environmental problems. Ms. Mutel will ask where do we stand now, and what prospects await us? She will present hopeful answers, but “only if we attend rapidly to mitigating climate change and its intensifying results.”

The public is invited to attend. A free supper begins at 6 p.m. and the program will commence at 7 p.m. For more information, call 563-299-1839.
