Advocate News Football Contest Koy Snider wins week three

Week 3 of the Advocate News Football Contest proved difficult for the contestants to predict the high school games.

The tiebreaker score was 40, the total number of points in Georgia’s 23-17 win over Notre Dame.

Koy Snider of Wilton won the $25 top prize this week, missing three games and guessing 53 for the tiebreaker.

Ed VanZandt of Wilton took second place and $15 this week, missing three games and guessing 55 for the tiebreaker.

Linda Guyer of Durant took third place and $10 this week, missing three games and having a tiebreaker prediction of 56.

This week’s scores included: Johnston 14, Muscatine 0; Cedar Falls 35, Bettendorf 32; Solon 17, Assumption 13; Washington 42, West Liberty 20; Western Dubuque 21, North Scott 3; Durant 7, Wapello 0; Benton 48, Wilton 14; Wisconsin 35, Michigan 14; Michigan State 31, Northwestern 10; Iowa State 72, UL Monroe 20; Auburn 28, Texas A&M 20; Georgia 23, Notre Dame 17; Washington 45, BYU 19; Missouri 34, South Carolina 14; Pittsburgh 35, UCF 34.

Also a tradition since 2010, the Football Contest will have a “12 weeks, 12 winners” theme. Participants are limited to one first place finish over the 12-week period of the contest. (All winners can continue to play week-to-week, but each entrant is limited to one first place finish.)
