Area sixth graders recently designed advertising for area businesses as part of Newspaper in Education Week. Each participating business selected its favorite ad, which was then featured in the March 5 edition of the Wilton-Durant Advocate News. Staff members from the newspaper also selected its top three overall ad designs. Two winners from Wilton are shown above (from left) Sami Endris, won for Best Ad Artwork; Hadley Rae, won for Best Creative Message. Royce Richman of Durant also won for Best Ad Layout, yet was unable to be reached prior to school closures due to COVID-19. Each overall winner received a blue ribbon and an Advocate News cup full of goodies.
