With the 2018-2019 school year underway, area homecoming activities are right around the corner. Wilton’s homecoming week will be Sept. 18-22, with the dance Saturday, Sept. 22 from 8-11 p.m. in the junior high gym. Durant’s homecoming week will be Sept. 24-29, with the dance Saturday, Sept. 29 from 8-11 p.m. in the school’s cafeteria.
Both schools will have Wednesday parades and pep rallies, where the homecoming king and queen will be announced. Wilton’s parade and pep rally will be Wednesday, Sept. 19 at 6:30 p.m. Durant’s parade and pep rally will be Wednesday, Sept. 26 at 6 p.m.
Homecoming football games are as follows: Wilton vs. Sigourney-Keota Sept. 21 at 7 p.m. and Durant vs. Cardinal, Eldon Sept. 28 at 7 p.m.
Added to the Wilton schedule this year is a Friday night tailgate at the school prior to the football game. From 5:30-6:30 p.m. several activities will be available, including bounce houses, giant Jenga, football toss, dunk tank, pop ring toss, ladder ball, bags and volleyball.

Tuesday, Sept. 18—1:10-1:25 p.m. Kick-off pep rally; 1:30-2:30 Decoration day; Tug of War 2:35-2:55.
Wednesday, Sept. 19—6:30 p.m. Parade; 7 p.m. pep rally/coronation at the high school.
Thursday, Sept. 20—3-3:15 p.m. Volleyball pep rally.
Friday, Sept. 21—1:10-1:25 p.m. Game day kickoff assembly; 1:30-2:50 games (kickball, musical chairs, ultimate football, dodge ball); 2:55-3:15 Football pep rally; 5:30-6:30 tailgate events; 7 p.m. football game vs. Sigourney-Keota.
Saturday, Sept. 22—Homecoming dance from 8-11 p.m. in the junior high gym.
Durant
Monday, Sept. 24—Dress up day: Mathletes vs. Athletes; Activity: Dance off.
Tuesday, Sept. 25—Dress up day: Tropical Tourist Tuesday; Activity: Minute to win it games.
Wednesday, Sept. 26—Dress up day: Class Color Day; Activities: Parade at 6 p.m. with coronation to follow.
Thursday, Sept. 27—Dress up day: Throwback Thursday; Activity: Best dressed competition.
Friday, Sept. 28—Dress up day: Blue and Gold; Activities: Powder puff football, Tug of War, Dodge ball, Volleyball; Football game at 7 p.m. vs. Cardinal, Eldon Comets.
Saturday, Sept. 29—Homecoming dance from 8-11 p.m. in the cafeteria.
Note: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday activities are from 11:30 a.m. to noon while Friday’s activities will be from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
