A benefit and Celebration of Life for Wayne M. Basting, 66, of Davenport, will be held from 4:30-10 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, at Don’s Pub, Donahue. The McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mr. Basting died Friday, Jan. 11, 2019, at his home.
Wayne Basting was born Sept. 21, 1952, in Chicago, the son of Marty and Virginia (Auls) Basting.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
He worked as a skilled laborer with various companies in the area.
His hobbies were hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his companion, Karen Mangels, Davenport; his children, Josh (Amber) Basting, Racheal (Sean) Jett, Alysha Mangels, Ashley Mangels, and Andrea Mangels, all of Davenport; 10 grandchildren, John, Dustin, Kyle, Jacob and Jazamyne Basting, Aryeh, Audrina and Avrie Jett, and Emma and Ava Case; a great-grandson; and his sisters, Linda (Sonny) Kwasniewski and Bonnie (Bill) Stach, all of Chicago.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Amy Mangels, and a sister, Gail Ecklund.
