A funeral service for Virgil “Chuck” Warfield Jr., 84, of Davenport, was held at noon on Friday, Jan. 17, in the Runge Mortuary Chapel, Davenport. Visitation was two hours prior to the service on Friday at the mortuary. Burial was in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Warfield died Monday, Jan. 13, 2020.
Virgil Warfield was born Aug. 27, 1935, in Davenport, the son of Virgil and Flora (Cato) Warfield.
He married Marilyn Ruge on April 15, 1960. She died in 2003.
He retired from Alcoa after 30 years of service.
His hobbies were watching TV, going out to dinner, spending time with his family, and collector cars.
Survivors include his daughters, Robin (Edward) Bell and Teresa (Doug) Gothard; his grandchildren, Ryan (Brianna) Zeimet, Travis Zeimet, Jacob (Maggie) Boesen, Jessica (Adam) Wiszowaty, Dylan Zeimet, Taylor Boesen, and Katelyn Bell; and a sister-in-law, Shirley Wadsworth.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Shirley Letterman and Barbara Warfield; and his brothers-in-law, Gary Wadsworth and Joe Letterman.
