Obituary: Viola Loyd

A funeral service for Viola Katherine “Tootsie” Loyd, 84, of Buffalo, was held at noon on Friday, Oct. 18, at the Runge Mortuary. Visitation was one hour prior to the service on Friday at the mortuary. Burial was in the Blue Grass Cemetery.

Mrs. Loyd died Saturday, Oct. 12, 2019, in Buffalo.

Viola Strohbehn was born Feb. 9, 1935, in Scott County, the daughter of Henry and Ella (Schroder) Strohbehn.

She married Paul Loyd on Dec. 31, 1971, in Davenport. He died in October of 2003.

Her hobbies were taking care of wild birds and squirrels, spending time with family and friends, sewing, and cooking.

Survivors include her sisters, Lois Puck, Davenport, and Virginia Garlock and Evelyn Hutchison, both of Buffalo, and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Strohbehn; her sisters, Helen Boetger and Dorothy Lindemann; and her brothers, Harold, Walt, Louie, Lester, and Warren.
