Obituary: Verna Wiepert-Lynch

Verna I. Wiepert-Lynch, 75, of Moline, formerly of Clinton and Camanche, died Thursday, Sept. 12, 2019, at Overlook Village. Per her wishes, there will be no visitation or services. Private family services will be scheduled at a later date. The Runge Mortuary, Davenport, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Verna Wiepert was born Dec. 15, 1943, in Clinton County, the daughter of Herbert and Violet (Newsom) Wiepert. She graduated from high school in Camanche, and attended Mount St. Claire College in Clinton.

She married Leslie Lynch. He preceded her in death.

She worked as a payroll, keypunch operator, and later became a CNA, working for over 30 years at Alverno Health Care and Bluff Terrace in Clinton.

Survivors include her sisters, Brenda (Dan) Jobst, Davenport, and Linda (John) Laake, Bettendorf; her nieces, Erica Ewoldt, Ashley Wiepert, Jenna Wiepert and Chelsea Wiepert; a nephew, Christopher (Chas) Wiepert; 18 great-nieces and nephews; and an aunt, Helen Pieper.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Wiepert.

Memorials may be made to the Clinton Humane Society or the Davenport Humane Society.
