A funeral services for Shirley M. Crews, 89, of Davenport, was held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27, in The Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation was one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the mortuary. Burial was in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Crews died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2018, at Genesis East Medical Center.
Shirley Carpenter was born July 9, 1929, in Davenport, the daughter of Elmer and Annie (Thomas) Carpenter.
She married Robert Crews on July 26, 1952. He preceded her in death.
She retired in 1991 from the Davenport Schools cafeteria, after working her way up to manager of the cafeteria at Smart Junior High.
Shirley was a longtime member of St. Mark Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Her hobbies were camping, fishing, shopping, watching baseball, and spending time with her family.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Ann (Tom) Laake, Bettendorf; a son, Mike (Lisa) Crews, Davenport; her grandchildren, Andrea (Bill) Wombacher, Danielle (Adam) Seitz, and Kyle Crews; and a great-grandson.
Memorials may be made to St. Mark Evangelical Lutheran Church, Davenport.
