Obituary: Sharon Hatten

Sharon K. Hatten, 80, of Moline, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2018, at Hope Creek Care Center in East Moline.

A memorial visitation was held from 4-7 p.m. Monday at Van Hoe Funeral Home, Ltd., in East Moline. Private graveside services will be held at a later date in Greenview Memorial Gardens, next to her husband.

Sharon was born Aug. 11, 1938, in rural Donahue, a daughter of Alvin and Sylvia (Schlesser) Denk. She graduated from Davenport High School. She married Robert Hatten on Dec. 22, 1962. He passed away March 25, 2015.

Sharon worked for the Davenport Bank & Trust for six years after high school until marrying Robert. They owned an operated a horse farm together in rural Colona for over 30 years. She then owned Grizzly Trucking Company in Moline from 1990 until retiring with her husband in 2007. They loved attending horse shows together.

She is survived by her children: Blair Hatten (Denise Wolf) of Eldridge; Krista Hatten of Roseville, Ill.; four grandchildren: Peyton, Brooke, Suriya and Suneel; a sister: Diane (Bill) Barker of Tubac, Ariz.; nieces: Beth Kussatz of Davenport, and Toni Ward of Silvis; nephews: Scott (Diane) Ward of East Moline, and Joe (Shannon) Kussatz of Davenport.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a nephew: Randy Ward.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
