Obituary: Ronald Schnoor

A celebration of life service for Ronald H. Schnoor, 78, of rural Plainview, will be held from 5-9 p.m. Saturday, April 27, at the Dixon American Legion. Per the family’s wishes, his body was donated to The University of Iowa for medical research study. The Runge Mortuary, Davenport, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Mr. Schnoor died Saturday, March 30, 2019, at Davenport Lutheran Home.

Ronald Schnoor was born April 12, 1940, in Davenport, the son of Harvey and Gertrude (Collier) Schnoor.

He served in the U.S. Army National Guard from 1958-1966.

He married Carron Ruesink on June 25, 2008, in Davenport.

He owned and operated the family farm, and sold seed corn and Conklin products.

He was a member of the Iowa Corn Growers and Soybean Growers, and the Walcott Community Club, and a former member of the Dixon Park Board.

His hobbies were traveling in his motor home with his wife, and going to the casinos and playing the slot machines.

Survivors include his wife; his children, Craig (Kelly) Schnoor, Plainview, and Brian (Lynette) Schnoor, Parkston, S.D; three stepchildren; his grandchildren, Preston, Becca, Ashley, Amber and Aaron; six step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one step-great-granddaughter; his siblings, Allen (Connie) Schnoor, Donahue, Norman (John) Nielson, Eldridge, and Mardel (Russ) Huebner, LeClaire; and the mother of his children, Mary Lincoln, Walcott.

He was preceded in death by a son, Gerald.
