Obituary: Richard Schnack

A funeral service for Richard Gene Schnack, 60, of Davenport, was held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 30, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Clinton. Burial was in Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Visitation was Sunday, April 29, from 1-4 p.m. at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory.

Mr. Schnack died Thursday, April 26, 2018, at Genesis East Medical Center, Davenport.

Richard Schnack was born July 30, 1957, in Clinton, the son of Raymond and Lois (Mohr) Schnack. He graduated from Clinton High School in 1975, and attended Clinton Community College.

He married Mary Manspeaker on April 24, 1982, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Clinton.

He was a store manager at Petersen Hagge Furniture and Klavohns Furniture.

He coached youth softball and baseball. His hobbies were traveling, golfing, watching sports, and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife; his daughters, Lauren (Gary) Green, and Michelle Schnack (Ryan Bobst), all of Blue Grass, and Leslie (Justin) Shaffer, Clinton; his grandchildren, Jaylen and Riley Green, Cameron and Josiah Shaffer, and Danielle and Levi Bobst; and his siblings, Ray Schnack (Esther Eich) of North Carolina, Karen (Lynn) Daniels and Elizabeth Mink, all of Clinton, John (Darlene) Schnack, St. Louis, Mo., and Paul (Lynn) Schnack, DeWitt.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Ellen and Helen; and a brother, Robert.

Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church of Clinton, or the American Lung Association for smoking cessation.
