A funeral service for Neva “Jean” Bruce, 90, of Davenport, was held at noon on Thursday, Oct. 3, at the Runge Mortuary, Davenport. Visitation was one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the mortuary. Interment was in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Bruce died Sunday, Sept. 29, 2019, at the Good Samaritan Home, Davenport.
Neva Jackson was born Aug. 14, 1929, in Marceline, Mo., the daughter of Victor and Bertha (McCurry) Jackson.
She married Lawrence Bruce on May 8, 1946, in Rock Island. He preceded her in death.
She worked in the office at QC Pathology prior to her retirement.
Her hobbies were cooking, gardening, and watching sports.
Survivors include a daughter, Debbie Bruce; a son, Terry Bruce; her grandchildren, Matt Bruce, Angie Childs, and Jeff Bolton; and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Larry; two sisters, Marjorie Smith and Ann Hatton; and a brother, Harold Jackson.
