Obituary: Lyle Rohlf

A funeral service for Lyle Wayne Rohlf, 88, of Davenport, was held at noon on Friday, Oct. 11, at the Runge Mortuary, Davenport. Burial was in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation was held from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday at the mortuary.

Mr. Rohlf died Saturday, Oct. 5, 2019, at Genesis East Medical Center, Davenport.

Lyle Rohlf was born Dec. 3, 1930, in Davenport, the son of Arthur and Dorothy (Kuendel) Rohlf.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1952-1954, where he served as a military police officer in Frankfort, Germany.

He married Nelda Heuer on Sept. 24, 1954, in Davenport.

He worked at Ralston Purina for 39 years.

His hobbies were spending time with his family, collecting NASCAR memorabilia, going to races, and watching sports.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Sue (Andy) Brus; his sons, Steve (Barb) Rohlf and Stan (Brenda) Rohlf; his grandchildren, Carrie Brus, Kate (Ryan) Heid, Tim (Megan) Rohlf, John Rohlf (Alanna Payne), Daniel Rohlf, Zach (Kelli) Rohlf, Adam Rohlf (Sara Jones), Hannah Rohlf (Collin Guinn), and Kayla Rohlf; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Joyce (Bill) Hudson.

He was preceded in death by two grandsons, Matthew and Joshua Rohlf; and a brother, Dean Rohlf.
