Obituary: Lucille Meyer

Lucille Carma Meyer, age 83, of Durant, passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2023, at Davenport Lutheran Home. A visitation was held from 5-8 p.m., Thursday, July 13, at Bentley Funeral Home, Durant.  A funeral service was held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 14, at the funeral home.  Burial took place in Durant Cemetery.  Memorials may be directed to the Durant Ambulance or the Durant Fire Department.  Online condolences may be left at www.bentleyfuneralhome.com.

Lucille was born on Nov. 2, 1939, the daughter of Alfred and Leona (Stahmer) Olderog in Davenport.  She graduated from Durant High School with the Class of 1957.  She married Lee Meyer on May 28, 1957, in New Era.

Lucille farmed her entire life in Cedar County.  She hauled commercial application grain for the farmers at the Stockton Coop.  She was a member of the Scott County Farm Bureau, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, and the National Wildlife Federation.  Lucille loved the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, and snowmobiling in Montana.  She also enjoyed traveling and took several trips with her longtime companion, Wayne.  Most of all, Lucille cherished spending time with her family, friends, and her fur babies.

Lucy will be dearly missed by her three children, Steve (Kay) Meyer of Durant, Janice (Robert) Telsrow of Stockton, and Nikolaus (Kelli) Meyer of Davenport; four grandchildren, Jennifer (Ryan Cronbaugh) Tyler, Misty (Rick) Sorensen, Rick (Erin) Telsrow, and Renee Telsrow; six great-grandchildren, Drake, Kourtney, Brady, MaKenna, Tristan, and Evelyn; and her longtime companion, Wayne Ovesen of Durant.

Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Leona Olderog.
