Obituary: Lowell Daasch

A private memorial service for Lowell W. Daasch, 87, of Davenport, will be held at St. Mark Lutheran Church, Davenport. Per his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and inurnment will be in Davenport Memorial Park. The Runge Mortuary, Davenport, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Mr. Daasch died Saturday, Oct. 27, 2018, at the Good Samaritan Society.

Lowell Daasch was born May 26, 1931, in Davenport, the son of Walter and Milda (Untiedt) Daasch. He graduated from Davenport High School in 1951.

He was drafted into the U.S. Marine Corps in September of 1951 and served two combat tours in the Korean War and one aboard the U.S.S. St. Paul CA-73.

He married Lois Kinsey on June 14, 1958, at St. Mark Lutheran Church, Davenport.

He was a lifetime member of St. Mark Lutheran Church and was active in many phases of the church.

His hobbies were reading, history, and genealogy.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Lynn (Don) Warner, Davenport; and a son, Bruce (Janelle) Daasch, Rock Island.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert.

Memorials may be made to St. Mark Lutheran Church or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
