Obituary: Lorn Fairow

A funeral service for Lorn “Sam” Fairow, 91, of Davenport, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 21, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Davenport. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation will be Thursday, Dec. 20, from 4-7 p.m. at the church. The Runge Mortuary, Davenport, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Mr. Fairow died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2018, at his home.

Lorn Fairow was born Aug. 18, 1927, in Buffalo, the son of Irving and Elizabeth (Childs) Fairow.

He married Geneva Taylor on July 20, 1957, in Cedar Rapids. She died Aug. 30, 2007.

He worked in food production at Oscar Mayer Foods, retiring in 1991 after 42 years of employment.

He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.

His hobbies were watching sports, woodworking, and fishing.

Survivors include his sons, Gregory Fairow and Michael Parris; two granddaughters; and three great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Harmon and Lorine Wynkoop; and three brothers, John Fairow, Robert Fairow, and Clarence Fairow.

Memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church.
