Obituary: Loren Puck

A celebration of life honoring Loren F. Puck, 81, of Greenwood, Ind., will be held Jan. 12 from 1-5 p.m. at Dye’s Walk Country Club, 2080 S. St. Rd. 135, Greenwood. The Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory – Greenwood Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.

Mr. Puck died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2018, at Greenwood Health and Living Center.

Loren Puck was born May 16, 1937, in Davenport, the son of Arthur and Hermina Puck. He graduated from Davenport High School.

He served in the U.S. Army from October 1955 to October 1958.

He married Beverly Holdorf in 1959.

He began his work career at E.W. Bliss, Moline. In 1967, he transferred to Georgetown, Ontario, Canada. In 1973, he was hired by George Endress to lead the U.S. division of Endress and Hauser, located in Boston, Mass., at the time. He moved the company to Greenwood, where he started with eight employees and grew it into a company with over 500. He retired in 2002.

His hobby was golf and he was a member of Dye’s Walk Country Club for 40 years. He participated in the Indiana State PGA Seniors Golf for 10 years and was an officer, including president. He was a member of the Greenwood Redevelopment Committee, where he was also an officer and president. He was also a member of New Hope Church of Greenwood, and the Masonic Wilton Lodge No. 167 A.F. and A.M. in Wilton Junction, Iowa.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Scott (Stacey) Puck, Greenwood; two grandchildren, Isabel and Ethan; a sister, Susan Hodel, Mt. Dora, Fla.; and his brothers, Dennis (Karen) Puck, Walcott, and Jim (Joan) Puck, DeWitt.

He was preceded in death by his brothers Virgil and Lugene.
