A funeral service for Laurel E. Bigalk, 83, of Davenport, was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, in the Runge Mortuary Chapel, Davenport. Visitation was two hours prior to the service on Wednesday at the mortuary. Private burial will be held at a later date.
Mrs. Bigalk died Sunday, June 16, 2019, at her home.
Laurel Petersen was born Aug. 27, 1935, in Harmony, Minn., the daughter of Raymond and Esther (Aug) Petersen.
She married John Bigalk on Feb. 18, 1956. He died in 1995.
She was a member of the Red Hat Ladies.
Her hobbies were traveling, watching NASCAR, birds, crossword puzzles, baking, and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her sons, Daryl Bigalk and Jeff (Noelle) Bigalk; a granddaughter, Spencer; a grandson, Max; and a brother, Raymond “Bud” Petersen.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Petersen.
