Visitation for Jerry W. Boyd, 76, of Davenport, was held from noon – 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, at the Runge Mortuary, Davenport. Cremation rites have been accorded and burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park at a later date.
Mr. Boyd died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2018.
Jerry Boyd was born March 6, 1942, in Little Rock, Ark., the son of Aden and Pearl (Deller) Boyd.
He married Dawn Potter on June 25, 1988, in Davenport. She preceded him in death.
He was employed for many years at Oscar Meyer.
His hobbies were camping, fishing, and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his daughters, Sandra (Russell) Hughes, Columbus, Miss., and Geanie (Stan) Sotelo, Winter Springs, Fla.; a son, Jerry (Theresa) Boyd Jr., Broken Arrow, Okla.; a stepdaughter, Angie Gomez, Davenport; his stepsons, Craig Denny of Florida, and Dickie Gordon of Missouri; his grandchildren, Christopher (Courtney) Hughes, Joshua Hughes (Sabrina Lee), Robert Boyd, Emily Boyd, Spencer Sotelo, and Sam Sotelo; his step-grandchildren, Christian Gordon Sr., Richard Gordon Jr., Bonita Dawn Gordon, and Charity Gordon; two great-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; and his sisters, Marie Payne, Linda Miller, and Shirley Areson.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bud.
