Visitation for James “Jim” Decosta, 62, of Davenport, was held from 2-5 p.m. Tuesday, April 16, at the Runge Mortuary, Davenport. A celebration of life followed at the Circle Tap, Davenport.

Mr. Decosta died Thursday, April 11, 2019.

James Decosta was born Aug. 25, 1956, in Portland, Maine.

He served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged.

He was employed with the City of Davenport as a mechanic at the WWTP, retiring in July of 2018 after 37 years.

He was a well-known musician, playing with several bands including Phat Head Deluxe, Just Cuz, and Hap-Hazard. He was a lifelong member of the Teamsters Union, including 20 years as head steward.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy; and his sisters, Elizabeth (Kim) Housewright, Joan Decosta, and Amy (Steve) LaChance.
