Obituary: James Adams

A visitation with a Masonic service for James Louis Adams, 81, of Davenport, will be held from 1-3 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 25, at the Runge Mortuary, Davenport. The family will also greet guests immediately after the visitation at the Elks Lodge, Davenport. Per his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded.

Mr. Adams died Sunday, Aug. 18, 2019, at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.

James Adams was born July 24, 1938, in Rock Island, the son of Louis and Katherine (Pearson) Adams.

He served in the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. Lowery.

He married Nancy Boheneck on May 23, 1964. She died Aug. 20, 2006.

He was a member and past Master of the Masonic Lodge Fraternal #221. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and also belonged to KCCH, Mohassan Grotto mini bikers, and Kaaba Shriners.

His hobbies were boating, camping, building model ships, and spending time with friends.

Survivors include his daughters, Terri Castel and Kathy Adams, both of Davenport; his grandchildren, Derrick (Nicole) Castel, Nicholas and Breanna Robertson, and Cameron Adams; his mother, Katherine Enfield; and his siblings, Norman (Beverly) Adams, Patricia Hancock, and Dean Enfield.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his father, Louis Adams, and his stepfather, Jack Enfield.

Memorials may be made to the Shriner’s Transportation Fund or to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children.
