Obituary: Jack Lykam

A funeral service for Jack Ross Lykam, 77, of Davenport, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 12, in the Runge Mortuary Chapel, Davenport. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Davenport, at a later date. Visitation will be Thursday, Oct. 11, from 5-7 p.m. at the mortuary.

Mr. Lykam died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2018.

Jack Lykam was born Jan. 14, 1941, in Davenport, the son of John and Cora (Carstens) Lykam.

He served in the U.S. Army, Company A 293 Engineer Battalion.

He married Karen Ites on June 20, 1981, at St. Mark Lutheran Church, Davenport.

He was largely self-employed and had several car sales businesses in the Quad Cities.

His hobbies were spending time with family, friends and animals, making people laugh, NASCAR, cars, and riding motorcycles.

Survivors include his wife; his daughters, Deborah (Jerry) Brown and Deanna “Dee” Johnson (fiancé Eddy Christian); his grandchildren, John Brown and Jason (Beth) Brown; four great-grandchildren; and a brother, Jim (Barb) Lykam.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Gary.

Memorials may be made to King’s Harvest No Kill Shelter or the Scott County Humane Society.
