A funeral service for Geraldine E. “Jerry” Findley, 92, of Walcott, was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 16, at the Bentley Funeral Home, Durant. Visitation was one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home. Interment was in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Findley died Wednesday, June 13, 2018, at Cedar Manor Nursing Home, Tipton.
Geraldine Moeller was born March 12, 1926, in Walcott, the daughter of Ernest and Elsie (Schnoor) Moeller.
She married Vernon Schmidt on June 18, 1943, in Kahoka, Mo. He died Jan. 10, 1956. She later married Paul Findley on Jan. 3, 1973, in Davenport. He died Aug. 28, 1998.
She owned and operated Jerry’s Beauty Shop in Walcott for many years.
She was a member of the Walcott American Legion Auxiliary.
Her hobbies were reading, camping, fishing, playing Bingo, tending to her flowers, listening to music, and crocheting.
Survivors include a daughter, Susan (Steve) Knapp, Marion; a son, Vernon (Marcia) Schmidt, Tipton; a stepson, Joseph (Charlotte) Findley, Port Byron, Ill.; 10 grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; and a sister, Phyllis (Don) Juchter, Bennett.
In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Oepping; a son, Dallas Schmidt; her stepsons, David and Carey Findley; a step-granddaughter, Selena Findley; and a sister, Betty Paustian.
Memorials may be made to Cedar Manor Nursing Home, or the Walcott American Legion.
