A funeral service for Gerald T. Cooper, 84, of Eldridge, was held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 7, at Chambers Funeral Home, Eldridge. Visitation was one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home. Interment with military honors was in Rock Island National Cemetery.
Mr. Cooper died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2018, at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.
Gerald Cooper was born April 8, 1934, in Northampton, Mass., the son of Thomas and Doris (Quigley) Cooper.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He married Myrna Tebben in 1989 in Las Vegas, Nev. She died in 2012.
He worked at the Rock Island Arsenal as a buyer for the government.
He was a 50-year member of the Kaaba Shrine and the Davenport Masonic Lodge 37.
Survivors include his stepchildren, Tracey (Jorge) Flores, Andover, Kan., and Steve Kluver, Audubon, Iowa; his step-grandchildren, Jacob, Amelia, Michael and Virginia; and other step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
