A funeral service for Gary E. Mau, 74, of Davenport, was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 22, in the Runge Mortuary Chapel, Davenport. Burial was in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation was held Friday, June 21, from 4-6 p.m. at the mortuary.
Mr. Mau died Wednesday, June 19, 2019.
Gary Mau was born March 25, 1945, in Davenport, the son of Robert and Velma (Winters) Mau.
He served in the U.S. Navy.
He married Janice Johannsen on Aug. 22, 1970, in Davenport.
He worked at the Rock Island Arsenal for over 30 years, retiring from the Department of Defense in 2002.
His hobbies were traveling and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Jennifer Mau, Portland, Ore.; a son, Jeffery (Ann Marie) Mau, Davenport; his grandchildren, Avery Panganiban and Hunter Mau; a sister, Sandy (Ed) Winborn, Davenport; and a brother, Ron (Cheryl) Mau, Bettendorf.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Denise Griffin.
