Obituary: F.K. 'Boots' Tripp

A Mass of Christian Burial for F.K. “Boots” Tripp, 91, of LeClaire, was held at 1 p.m. Monday, July 8, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Bettendorf. Visitation was one hour prior to Mass on Monday at the church, where a rosary was recited at 12:30 p.m. Burial was in Davenport Memorial Park. The McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf, assisted the family with arrangements.

Mrs. Tripp died Wednesday, July 3, 2019, at her home.

She was born Aug. 11, 1927, in Colton, Calif., the daughter of Robert and Florence (Nick) Reis.

She married Wesley Edward Tripp on Nov. 8, 1942, in Kahoka, Mo. He died Jan. 7, 1982.

Prior to retirement, she had been employed at Northwest Bank in Davenport for seven years, and later at Heeren Company of Moline for 10 years.

Her hobbies were riding motorcycles, bowling, snowmobiling, pleasure boat riding, fishing, arts and crafts, and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her daughter, Cheryl Allbee, LeClaire; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Robert Tripp; her grandsons, Jon Allbee and Christopher Tripp; a son-in-law, Jerry Allbee; and her brothers, Bobbie Reis, William Reis, and Walter Reis.
