Obituary: Elmer Norman

A funeral service for Elmer “Arnold” Norman, 80, of Davenport, was held at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9, at the Runge Mortuary, Davenport. Visitation was two hours prior to the service on Friday at the mortuary.

Mr. Norman died Sunday, Aug. 4, 2019, at his home.

Elmer Norman was born Sept. 27, 1938, in Centerville, Iowa, the son of Cecil and Alice (Stevens) Norman. He married Lynda Webb on Feb. 13, 1960, in Davenport.  He worked in circulation at The Quad-City Times and later at the Leader newspaper.

He was a member of the Iowa Quarter Horse Racing Association.

His hobbies were raising and racing quarter horses and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife; his children, Vicki (Brian) Guy-Plambeck and Joel (Melanie) Norman; his grandchildren, Amber Guy, Eric Guy, Daniel (Hope) Guy, Andrew (Ashley) Guy, Lynda (Jeremy) Draper, Joel Guy, Andrea Guy, Cambry Gundrum, Skylar Norman, and Miranda Rinas; 23 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and his siblings, Gary Norman, Rita Price, Barbara Jean Wood, and Diana Trivette.
