Obituary: Eileen Flynn

Eileen Faye Flynn, age 68, passed away suddenly on Saturday, Oct. 7, 2017. Memorial services will be at Hope Lutheran Church in Dixon with pastors Diane Prichard and Tessa Cavey officiating on Friday, Oct. 13, at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in the Dixon Cemetery. Visitation will be at Chapman’s in Wheatland on Thursday, Oct. 12, from 3-7 p.m.

Eileen was born on Nov. 18, 1948, to Earl H. and June H. Meyer Peekenschneider in Davenport.

Eileen had a passion for golfing, fishing, NASCAR, football, and was a Hawkeye fan. She also enjoyed playing with her grandkids, going to cross country meets, and was her kids’ and grandkids’ biggest fan. Eileen was a member of the Dixon American Legion Auxiliary and was a mom to everybody.

She is survived by her special friend of 27 years, Jan Schnede of Calamus; sons, Todd (Tammy) of Wheatland, Chad (Justine) of Broomfield, Colo., Brian (Amy) of Dixon, and Brett (Deana) of Broomfield, Colo.; daughter, Katie (Gilbert) Gomez of Carlsbad, N.M.; grandchildren, Karissa Mayerhofer, Miranda Mayerhofer, Sawyer Flynn, Nick Noel, Alexis Flynn, McLaine Flynn, Zachary Flynn, Collin and Kevin Flynn, Jocelyn Gomez, and Carver Gomez; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Ronald, Kevin, and Gene.
