Ozzie was born July 28, 1938, in the Quad Cities to Earl and Hazel (Hill) Osterberg, Sr. He was united in marriage to Bonnie Meinert on Sept. 25, 1965, in Eldridge.

Ozzie was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and was a true family man who valued hard work and had a knack for bringing out the best in others. He was a U.S. Marine, Davenport Firefighter for 32 years, and a man of deep faith. He particularly enjoyed watching softball and playing golf. His favorite moments involved gathering around campfires with his family at his lakeside home. Ozzie’s healthy sense of humor, work ethic and faith in God characterized the man we love.

A foundation endorsed by the Pleasant Valley School District was created in his memory, “The Ozzie Osterberg Team Spirit Scholarship.” Memorials may be made to the foundation.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 52 years, Bonnie; children: Jill (Dell) Reuter, Charlotte, Andy Osterberg, Eldridge, Jodi (Don) Green, Wisconsin, Lori (Mike) Duncan, Bettendorf, Joe (Megan) Osterberg; grandchildren: Julia Reuter, Kathryne, Kristin, Tommy, Danny, Andy and Jaclyn Green, Ada, Ozzie and Vic Duncan, Tinley and Taryn Osterberg and sister, Shirley Seasbeau, New Mexico.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his grandson, Jonathan David Reuter.
