A funeral service for Donald J. Martell, 82, of Davenport, was held at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 8, in the Runge Mortuary Chapel, Davenport. Visitation was two hours prior to the service on Monday at the mortuary. Burial was in Davenport Memorial Park.
Mr. Martell died Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2018.
Donald Martell was born Feb. 8, 1936, in Davenport, the son of Glenn and Betty (Fitzpatrick) Martell.
He married Pat Healey. She preceded him in death. He later married Helen (Page) Huber Martell.
He retired from Titan Wheel after 45 years of service.
His hobbies were watching NASCAR, street rods and fast cars, carpentry, and woodworking.
Survivors include his wife Helen; his children, Debbie Martell (Charlie Johnston), Joe (Jo) Martell, and Annette Luckey (Rich Morgan), all of Davenport; his stepchildren, Tom Huber, Des Moines, Jerry (Merry) Huber and Ron (Deb) Huber, all of Milan, Ill., Carrie (Patrick) Murphy, Denver, Colo., Brian (Tammy) Huber, Rock Island, Lori Trisch, Paducah, Ky., and Lisa (Mark) Miller, Symsonia, Ky.; 19 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ruth (Johnny) Urmie, Durant.
In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death by two children, Danny and Bobbie Jean, and a sister, Jean Bermal.
