Obituary: David Aberly

David Joseph Aberly, age 73, a resident of Land O’Lakes for over 50 years, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 20, 2019, at his home.  David was born on June 7, 1946, in Crystal Falls, Mich., to Kenneth and Gladys Aberly.  He joined the U.S. Army and served during Vietnam.  He then moved to Land O’Lakes, Wis., and operated Dave’s Saw Service in Land O’Lakes for over 40 years.  He served as the president of the Lake States Saw Filer’s Association.  He also worked at Nagel’s Lumber.  In his free time, Dave liked motorcycling, fishing and hunting.  He also enjoyed gardening and taking care of his apple tree.  Dave was proud of the fact that he made and delivered firewood to the surrounding areas after his retirement.  He was preceded in death by his parents and infant brother: Duane.  He is survived by his daughter: Diane Jayne (David) Bremer of Dixon; son: Daniel Joseph (Candice Kasson) Aberly of Green Bay, Wis.; brother: Don (Donna) Aberly of Crystal Falls; sister: Darlene Aberly of Crystal Falls; grandchildren: Kirsten, Jon, Dylan, and Ayanna; great-granddaughter: Laura Jayne; and his ex-wife: Susan Aberly. 

A friend and family gathering will be held at his home from 12 noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16.
